PLAY MAIDS

With the grim and visually poetic music-theatre-peepshow PLAY MAIDS, Mart graduated from the Music Theatre course at ArtEZ in 2016. Freely after Jean Genet’s play ‘The Maids’, the performance shows the Freudian trip of two maidservants and their mistress. While exploring the borders of identity, roleplay and exhibitionism, they turn the spectator into a voyeur of their intimate ritual.

PLAY MAIDS won the audience award at festival Körber Studio Junge Regie in Hamburg and was later shown at ITS Festival Amsterdam, Amsterdam Fringe Festival, and reprised in 2017 at OUTNOW! Festival Bremen and at different theaters in the Netherlands.
